The master cylinder controls the movement of brake fluid in the braking system and is absolutely critical for braking performance. If your brakes are not functioning this is a good place to start looking. If there is any leaking seen around this master cylinder we recommend immediate replacement.

The brake master cylinder is responsible for taking the mechanical energy from the brake pedal input and transferring it to hydraulic energy providing hydraulic pressure to all 4 wheels. While not a typical maintenance item, a brake master cylinder can wear out and fail most commonly due to worn out internal seals.
