Engine Valve Spring

Valve springs wear out over time and lose their tension. This can allow the valve to "float" - stay open longer and not close quick enough. Cars that see a lot of track time or extended high RPM should have their valve springs (and retainers and keepers) inspected regularly. Replacing them during major freshening or overhaul will help ensure maximum performance. 

This is a stock-spec valve spring for non-M E36 323is/328i, E46 323i/325i/328i/330i, E39 525i/528i/530i, E60 525i/530i, X3 2.5i/3.0i, X5 3.0i, Z3, and Z4 2.5i/3.0i. These are the M52, M52tu, M54 and M56 engines, which are all 24 valve 6 cylinders that share this same stock valve spring.

This valve spring was previously listed under earlier revision part numbers, including 11341427676 (11 34 1 427 676), 11341748878 (11 34 1 748 878), and 11437527133 (11 43 7 527 133). BMW discontinued this part number in 2024 so we partnered with a manufacturer that specializes in BMW engine components to make a 1:1 identical replacement. The un-compressed height is very slightly taller than a new Genuine spring but the rate under compression is the same. Under ideal circumstances you would have the same springs throughout the head but we built these to also work as a direct replacement.
